Legislative Affairs
The fundamental activity of the Legislative Committee is to formulate positions for the chamber of commerce on issues facing our businesses. The committee is open to all members and through this process, positions brought to the Board of Directors for approval reflect the views of our members.
The chamber of commerce works with elected officials at all levels of government to represent the business perspective on issues facing our community, the Commonwealth, and our country.
The General Assembly Report in March allows members to hear our local Delegates and State Senators give an update on the latest session in Richmond.
The annual Candidates Forum in October gives Chamber members an opportunity to meet candidates on the ballot for November and ask questions reguarding their stands on the issues.
