    Event Description:

    What does 2019 hold for the greater Fairfax County regional economy? Presentations by top experts in the local economy, real estate, and business development will discuss current conditions and future projections at Economic Outlook 2019.

    The 2019 Economic Outlook will be Thursday, April 11, 7:30 am to 11:00 am, at Belle Haven Country Club, 6023 Fort Hunt Road, Alexandria, VA  22307. 

    Registration opens at 7:30 am with a buffet breakfast and business displays. The program will begin at 8:30 am and will conclude at 11:00 am.

    Ralph B. McLaughlin
    Executive, Research & Insights and Deputy Chief Economist CoreLogic   

    In November 2018, Ralph McLaughlin was named as the deputy chief economist for CoreLogic in the Office of the Chief Economist. He is responsible for leading economic research using data and analytics to expand the visibility of the CoreLogic economic policy unit while enhancing research capabilities and tools for clients, industry leaders, the public sector and news media.  Prior to joining CoreLogic, he served as chief economist at Trulia, where he led their housing economics research team and provided house hunters with key insights about the economy, housing trends and public policy. 

    Dan Fulton
    Fulton Research

    As a leading real estate advisor, Dan Fulton gives clients the confidence to make investment decisions by providing them with direct, data-driven analyses of market supply and buyer demands for all types of housing. His 25 years of experience as both a consultant and homebuilder elevates his unique insight and awareness of market opportunities. He advises clients around the country on market feasibility, land acquisition strategies, business planning for future growth, and product design. He has owned and operated Fulton Research since 2004. 

    Bryan Hill
    Fairfax County Executive

    Appointed by the Board of Supervisors in January 2018, Bryan Hill oversees the Fairfax County government and implements direction from the Board of Supervisors. He plays a key role in strategic planning, ensuring excellence in public service, fostering partnerships with our residents and community leaders, preparing the annual budget, and executing all resolutions and orders of our elected Board of Supervisors. 

    Tom Davis
    Holland and Knight

    Tom Davis is a partner in the Holland and Knight Public Policy & Regulation Group in Washington, D.C., and Tysons, Va.  He is a former seven-term member of the U. S. House of Representative, where he served two successful cycles as Chairman of the House Republican Campaign Committee.  He also served as Chairman of the House Government Reform and Oversight Committee. Tom has twice won National Journal’s Political Genius Award; and is a frequent guest on cable television with his political commentary.  Tom also is an Adjunct Professor of Political Science at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia where he also serves as Rector. 

    Dr. Terry Clower
    Center for Regional Analysis, George Mason University

    Terry L. Clower is Northern Virginia Chair and Professor of Public Policy at George Mason University. He also serves as Deputy Director of the Center for Regional Analysis. Prior to joining GMU, he was director for the Center for Economic Development and Research at the University of North Texas.  Dr. Clower was employed in private industry in logistics and transportation management positions. He has authored or co-authored more than 120 articles, book chapters, and research reports reflecting experience in economic and community development, economic and fiscal impact analysis, transportation, land use planning, housing, and economic forecasting.
