Meet the new Command Team at Fort Belvoir! With the change of command in August, Col. Michael Greenberg is the new Fort Belvoir Commander and CSM Corey Perry is the new Command Sargeant Major.

Colonel Greenberg was commissioned from the United States Military Academy in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering. He is a graduate of the Quartermaster Basic Course, Combined Logistics Captains Career Course, Combined Arms and Service Staff School, the Command and General Staff College, Army Comptroller Program, and Senior Service College at Eisenhower School.
Colonel Greenberg was most recently assigned as the Director (CJ8) – Programs and Budget for Combined Security Transition Command – Afghanistan (CSTC-A) in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel. Other command and staff assignments include Platoon Leader and Executive Officer in the 101st Airborne Division (AASLT); Support Operations Officer and Company Commander in the 24th Corps Support Group at Hunter Army Airfield, GA in 2000; Budget Analyst in Coalition Forces Land Component Command (CFLCC), C8 (Forward) in Kuwait in 2003; Deputy Comptroller, Budget Officer, and the Deputy Division G8 in the 101st Airborne Division (AASLT), deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2005; instructor at the US Army Financial Management School at Fort Jackson, SC; Deputy Comptroller, Special Mission Unit; Assistance Chief of Staff, G8, 1st Theater Sustainment Command at Fort Bragg, NC, deploying to both Afghanistan and Kuwait in support of Operation Enduring Freedom; Finance Branch Manager and Assignment Officer at Human Resources Command in Fort Knox, KY in 2013; Defense Resource Manager on the Joint Staff J8 at the Pentagon.
Colonel Greenberg earned a Master’s in National Resourcing Strategy from National Defense University; and, Master’s in Business Administration and Public Administration from Syracuse University. His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Meritorious Service Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Joint Service Commendation Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster and “C” device, Army Commendation Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Achievement Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Pathfinder Badge, Airborne Badge, Air Assault Badge, Australian Jump Wings, German Jump Wings, and Joint Staff Identification Badge.
